FCDF Attorneys are also heavily involved in educating individuals on various issues of medical ethics. This involves speeches on various topics, including: abortion, artifical reproductive technology, the application of eugenic principles to the use of artificial reproductive technology, assisted suicide, the refusal to provide care to the ill and dying, and the treatment of homosexuality and transgenderism.
Of particular interest to FCDF is the application of the law to these moral issues, including attacks on freedom of conscience by federal, state, and local governmental entitites. More and more hospitals are disciplining nurses and doctors who refuse to perform abortions or administer abortifiacients, and who refuse to practice using artificial reproductive technology.
At FCDF, we will always stand up to defend individuals of conscience who refuse to participate in actions which they find immoral. But to begin, we need to educate the public of the importance of Freedom of Conscience. Even if you do not think that any specific medical practice is immoral, its important to defend the rights of others to believe as much, and excuse themselves
